In the heat, I blindly step across the burning yellow sand Sweat wiped from my brow, I side step the cacti before me And gaze out towards the blue horizon looking for a sign When will the mountains come and wash this desert away Dessert comes for the minds that wait Tender fudge and strawberry sweet cakes Encased in corn bread balls What can you see with your eyes? Wind erupts, as the mountains begin their upward descent Having seen the sign, I deeply breath the sand filled air And enjoy the dust torrent which erodes against my skin Escape from the mountains will not be so simple Brunch sparkles on the clean-washed plate Syrupy vallies glisten through the greens Rain above washes the sediment on Does the syrup feel gritty on your tongue? The sky opens, where starlit darkness streams down The mountains grow, and the rupture widdens to the horizon The sun sparkles upon the greens which grow brown and wither Brown covered dust lays motionless of the earth The dinner meal winds down Diners provide such atmosphere
